Welcome to Early Years Reception, our team; Miss Hardy, Miss Johnston and Mrs Bell aim to help our young learners to stay safe, enjoy and achieve whilst in their first year of school. Through play, in a safe but challenging environment, children develop their emotions and creativity, social and intellectual skills, and their language skills. This takes place both in and outdoors and we aim to further children's knowledge and extend their learning. We provide an environment where children can take risks, solve problems, and practise new ideas and skills independently and with others. By observing and listening, we allow children the time to explore and have a go before intervening.

Play dough Recipe:
Play dough is used to develop your child's hand strength for writing in a fun and exciting way. Here is a recipe to create your own play dough at home;
- 2 cups plain flour (all purpose)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (baby oil and coconut oil work too)
- 1/2 cup salt.
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar. (optional, will last longer with)
- 1 to 1.5 cups boiling water (adding in increments until it feels just right)
- gel food colouring (optional)
