Science
Subject Lead - Mrs K. Morland
At Dubmire we want all of our children to experience a rich and varied curriculum, which aims to enrich the experiences and understanding of the children through practical investigative enquiry. We aim to give all children a “wow” moment which ignites a love of learning and within these moments the children will be supported to develop essential investigatory skills which will develop throughout their school career, creating creates lifelong learners and scientists.
Science at Dubmire
Science begins as soon as children set foot in the doors in Early Years. The curriculum and environment provides all children countless opportunities to investigate, ask questions and explore with all of their senses. We encourage and facilitate these investigative skills in the classrooms, outdoor area and even in our forest school!
As the children move further up the school they will learn these investigative skills more explicitly, undergoing research, taking part in investigations and drawing conclusions from these. Children get the opportunity to see their science in different contexts, learning about scientists of all backgrounds and taking part in practical learning.
Primary Science Quality Mark
In 2022 Dubmire gained the Primary Science Quality Mark, showcasing the incredible science throughout school!
